Jessica runs down the figure as one clean vertical: smooth dense cloth holds the shoulder line, lies along the waist without a single spare fold and falls to the floor in a narrow skirt. At the hip the fabric is gathered into a fan of tucks, and from there a loose panel breaks away - as you walk it lags behind the body, catches the wind and trails after you in a long wave. Standing still the dress reads almost graphically; in motion a second, living line appears beside the straight silhouette.

The boat neckline holds the horizontal of the collarbones, the sleeve covers the arm to the elbow, and all the openness is gathered at the back: it drops in a deep angle almost to the waist, with a soft cowl turned along the edge that softens the severity of the shoulder line. The draping at the hip is gathered by hand, fold after fold, and it sets the direction of the light - across the closed front the light runs evenly, at the hip it breaks into soft facets. The fastening is hidden in the seam so the line of the back stays clean.

A dress like this holds an evening outdoors and open venues well, where there is wind and somewhere to walk with a trailing panel. For each bride we change the fit through the body and the arm, the skirt length for the heel, the depth of the back and the shade - from cool white to warm milk.
