A draped bodice and a flowing layered skirt

Shiana is built from soft transparent layers, and so the silhouette lives with every step. The bodice with its deep V neckline is laid in close pleats that converge on the waist in a fan and hold their shape even where the fabric seems weightless. Below it the skirt begins: the layers part in waves, lift in the wind and settle so that a cloud stays around the figure as you move. Standing still those same layers calm down and fall in soft folds with the light running over them.

The draping on the bodice is done by hand: every fold is laid and secured to the figure, so the neckline lies flat and does not gape. Wide shoulder lines pass into the back as a soft panel, and the back is open shallowly and calmly. Behind, the skirt is drawn out into a long train of the same layers - it follows the bride in bands of differing transparency and gathers beautifully in a photograph when you stop. A long veil of the same light fabric comes with the dress, and in the wind it picks up the movement of the skirt.

The dress asks for an outdoor ceremony, for water, for a sunset shoot and an evening under open sky - there is air in it and no weight. For each bride we change the fit of the bodice and the depth of the neckline, the lengths of skirt and train, the number of layers if you want more volume or less, and the shade: from cool white to the warm ivory that shows in photographs.

### What the price includes

We name the price of the work at the consultation, once the design is clear. Fabrics and trims are bought separately and itemised, so you can see how the price adds up. The final figure is fixed in the contract before the work begins.

### Can the design be changed

Yes. We make any model in your size, or take it as a starting point and build your own look - all the way to a sketch from scratch.

### Where the fittings happen

In our atelier at 50I Ligovsky Prospekt, St Petersburg. The consultation, the measurements and every fitting happen in person, by appointment.
