A firm seamed corset and a skirt with a train

The dress is built from two different characters. The top is a firm corset the colour of baked milk, constructed on verticals: it holds the line of the body evenly, never gathering into folds as you move, and ends in a sharp point below the waist. Below it the skirt begins - light, gathered, with a wide volume that moves in a wave as you step and returns to place. Light behaves softly in this fabric: it spreads along the large folds in long bands, without sharp flashes, so from a distance the silhouette reads calm and whole.

The join between corset and skirt is laid with a raised piping - it runs diagonally, slightly off centre, and lengthens the silhouette. Wide flat straps and a straight square neckline open the collarbones and shoulders; at the back the straps run under a square panel where the corset fastens down the centre. The train lies on the floor in a free half-circle, separate from the main volume of the skirt - in photographs it holds its shape by itself, without arranging.

A dress like this belongs where there is room for the skirt: a hall with high ceilings, an orangery, a shoot on a staircase. The corset is made to your measurements so the fit is close without pressing; we adjust the depth of the neckline and the width of the straps, the skirt length for your heel and the reach of the train. The shade is chosen from cool ivory to warm cream - by your skin tone and by the light in your venue.

We name the price of the work at the consultation, once the design is clear. Fabrics and trims are bought separately and itemised, so you can see how the price adds up. The final figure is fixed in the contract before the work begins.

### Can the design be changed

Yes. We make any model in your size, or take it as a starting point and build your own look - all the way to a sketch from scratch.

### Where the fittings happen

In our atelier at 50I Ligovsky Prospekt, St Petersburg. The consultation, the measurements and every fitting happen in person, by appointment.
