Karrino

Karrino is built to the figure: soft draping runs diagonally across the bodice, wraps the waist and continues down to the hipline, where the fabric thickens into a gathered skirt. The top stays smooth and almost still, while the bottom lives a life of its own - with every step the full waves open and close again, the train draws out behind and spreads along the ground. In sunset light the folds take on warm shadows, and the silhouette reads as one line from shoulder to hem.

The shoulders are laid with large petals of fine sheer fabric: they soften the neckline, repeat its line and stir slightly in the wind. The back is open in a deep V, the draping converging on its lowest point and standing in place of any ornament. The skirt is gathered by hand - full folds twisted into a rose at the hip and flowing out towards the train, so from behind the dress looks nothing like it does from the front.

A dress for an outdoor ceremony, for a shoreline and open space where there is room to spread the train. For each bride we change the fit of the bodice and the depth of the back, the length of the train and the volume of the skirt, and choose the shade - from pure white to the warm ivory that is especially fine here in sunlight.
