Alma

Alma rests on the contrast between a dense bodice and an almost weightless lower half. The top lies along the figure, marks the waist and ends where the skirt begins to live a life of its own: gathered in soft folds, it falls freely and opens into a wide circle as you step. The fabric is light and sheer in the upper layers, so in the wind the hem lifts in a wave and comes down slowly, without sharp creases. Light passes straight through the skirt and makes it almost luminous, while in a calm pose the cloth gathers into long vertical folds and lengthens the silhouette.

The bodice is made of an openwork cloth with a large floral pattern, over which strands of pearls are laid by hand. They descend in half-circles from the shoulders towards the centre, turn into vertical drops of varying calibre lower down and gradually dissolve into the skirt - the passage from dense embroidery to clean fabric comes out smooth, with no border. The same pearl chains lie across the shoulders instead of sleeves and sway gently as you move. The back is open in a deep neckline framed by the same embroidery, and behind it runs into a long train that trails and stays in the frame wherever the bride turns.

The dress asks for an outdoor ceremony by the water, a summer evening under open sky, a walk with somewhere to go. In the atelier we fit the bodice exactly to your figure, adjust the depth of the neckline and the back, choose the skirt length for your heel and height, and change the reach of the train. The shade is chosen from cool white to warm ivory, and the density of the pearl work can be made richer or more restrained.
