Rebecca is built from fine pleating, and the whole dress reads as one unbroken line of folds. Across the corset they run diagonally, wrapping the figure and leading the eye from shoulder to hip. Below, the pleating opens in tiers: the skirt moves in waves, stands with volume and sways slowly as you walk, in large masses. Light lies along the folds in narrow bands, so the silhouette stays expressive both standing still and in a photograph mid-step.

The neckline is asymmetric: one shoulder is bare, the other carries a large sculptural detail of the same pleating - it gives volume and makes the shoulder line finely pronounced. From that knot a long panel descends, working as a train, trailing behind you as you move and spreading around in a wide circle of folds when you sit. The back is open, and the passage from the corset draping to the free panel is visible whole. The shade is warm ivory, turning peach in sunset light.
